The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is hiring motivated, dependable, and team-orientated individuals for jobs that advance UGA’s mission of Public Service and Outreach. The Georgia Center, located on campus across from Stegeman Coliseum, is the campus hub for the development and administration of non-credit professional and continuing education courses as well as home of the only on-campus hotel.

Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm and Saturday-Sunday, 9am-5:30pm but may change for football and special events.

Clean and maintain all the public restrooms according with the expectation of the visitors and guests.
Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities
Vacuum all the lobbies, hallways and entrances of the Center every day. Vacuum all the offices at least once a week.
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities
Daily: pick-up trash in each of the lobbies, hallways, and entrances as well as in all the offices of the Center.
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities
Dust all the window frames, doors, pictures, tables, etc., and clean all glass windows from the inside of the building.

Clean and maintain good presentation of all the restrooms, lobbies, hallways and stairs of the Georgia Center plus other additional duties related to the cleaning of the offices. This work could involve unexpected duties such as custodial, linen services, and laundry tasks or public area duties in emergency situations or shortage of staff.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
Hotel cleaning or custodial experience.
Customer service/guest interaction experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
Knowledgeable with use of cleaning products. Be able to know how to use vacuum cleaner. Good attention to detail and presentation. Strong work ethic is desirable.
Physical Demands
This is a physically demanding position; lift or move at least 35 pounds; push, pull, or roll a 75 pound cart; work in small/tight spaces (between beds, and walls in hotel rooms, storage closets, etc.); reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and squat; work with hands; stand on feet and walk/climb stairs for long periods of time; see dust, hair, lint, and dirt; smell odors to identify the source to clean.

- This is a temporary position that will last less than 12 months and is not eligible for benefits. Temporary employees will be considered for full-time positions when they are available.
