Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an assistant or associate coach of a Division I intercollegiate golf program.

Position Summary

The organizing and administering of all phases of a NCAA Division I Men’s Golf program. Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to the University of Georgia, whose athletic and personal skills make them highly competitive in the SEC and nationally, and whose academic potential makes them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation at the University of Georgia.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies

  • Comprehend and adhere to NCAA, SEC, and institutional policies and procedures in the sport of golf.
  • Previous managerial experience in hiring, supervising, and evaluating coaches and staff.
  • Manage a budget.
  • Participate and support public relations, fundraising, and promotional activities.
  • Possess good organizational skills in coordinating recruiting travel and visit itineraries.
  • Oversee conditioning programs for the eligible student-athletes.
  • Willing to perform other duties as assigned by the sports facilitator.

Physical Demands

Stand; walk; use hands and reach with arms. Occasionally sit and talk or hear. Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Close and distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but escalates to high during practice and athletic competitions. Driving as needed to perform job tasks.

Organizing and administering all phases of a NCAA Division I men’s golf program including but not limited to: training and preparing athletes for competition; overseeing conditioning programs; hiring, supervising, and evaluating coaches and staff; managing budgets.

Monitoring and supporting the academic success of student-athletes.

Ensure personal and program compliance with NCAA, SEC, and institutional rules and responsibilities pertaining to the men’s golf program.
