Position Description Summary/Purpose:
Under the direction of the Vice President for Innovation, Strategy, and Advancement, the Advancement Coordinator will manage the events and marketing efforts of the Advancement Team and ensure that the department operates seamlessly and effectively. This position will require an understanding of the roles and duties of alumni and development officers, and a familiarity with event planning and marketing.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic project and workflow coordination in support of a slate of priority projects that impact fundraising priorities and outcomes.
- Participate in all Advancement and Development events, including occasional evening and weekend events.
- Manage social media campaigns and accounts, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- Plan and manage multiple annual alumni events, including Homecoming.
- Provide support for donor moves management through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Manage the relationship with the Office of Communications and Marketing.
- Ensure that appeals, acknowledgments, condolences, and other correspondence are scheduled and sent.
- Support priority projects and leadership deliverables for the Vice President of Innovation, Strategy, and Advancement and the Advancement Team.
- Develop content creation, marketing, and communications including, but not limited to social media posts, custom reports, and presentations.
- Work with Advancement software and databases as necessary.
- Maintain regular development reporting, including ad-hoc reporting requests and analysis.
- Perform related duties as necessary to support the University of Bridgeport’s mission.
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Other Functions:
- Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience working in education, preferably in Advancement or Development environments.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office specifically Access, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with Higher Education software platforms is a bonus, particularly Advancement software such as Omatic, Raiser’s Edge, Net Community, Ellucian, and Frontrush.
