Normal Work Schedule: 20 hours per week, afternoons/early evenings; this position may be for up to 5 years (January 1, 2026-December 31, 2030)

Job Summary: The Training Coordinator PT develops, plans, organizes, directs, and oversees specialized training programs for a college, department, or division on a part-time basis. Consults with subject matter experts and stakeholders as appropriate. Evaluates training effectiveness and achievement of learning outcomes and institutes changes or adjustments as appropriate. Provides coaching for Training Specialists and others as appropriate.

Additional Department Summary: The Cultivating Elementary Mathematics Specialists (CEMS) project is funded through the National Science Foundation Noyce Track 3 program and focuses on the development and use of Elementary Mathematics Specialists.

This position focuses on the day-to-day implementation of particular project activities in partnership with the university, school districts, and nonprofit organizations. Collaborates with project personnel to ensure a smooth and high-quality implementation of activities. Supports project participants, who are 18 elementary teachers serving as Elementary Mathematics Specialists in their classrooms and schools. Supports the recruitment, application, and registration of participating elementary teachers. Monitors and documents the elementary teachers’ participation in project requirements. Maintains frequent communication with the elementary teachers and all project personnel. Supports the collaborative partnership of the university, school districts, and non-profit organizations. Coordinates professional development and have direct oversight and monitoring of participants’ teacher leader activities. Leads two-three virtual professional learning communities that meet monthly. Provides virtual individual mentoring for the elementary teachers, including yearly classroom observations with feedback. Serves on all project committees. Supports the project’s collaborative research. Provides administrative support for project activities.

This position may be for up to 5 years (January 1, 2026-December 31, 2030).

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of creating and/or facilitating training experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years creating and/or facilitating training experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to provide effective research-based teaching and learning of elementary mathematics. Ability to support adult learners who are elementary teachers; facilitation of professional development of elementary teachers, including leading professional learning communities and instructional coaching. Strong communication and organizational skills in working across multiple responsibilities and partners.

Preferred Qualifications: Ed.S. or doctoral degree in a related field. Three (3) years of experience teaching elementary mathematics. Experience leading mathematics professional development of elementary teachers.
