- Providing ECE chair and committees with recommendations regarding curriculum and academic policies and procedures.
- Writing and entering proposals for curriculum and course changes.
- Principal responsibility for supporting the following categories of students:
- undergraduate EE/CpE students on CEPS probation or suspension.
- undergraduate EE/CpE students transferring to UA from other institutions.
- undergraduate EE/CpE double-majors or dual-degree students.
- EE/CpE post-bacc students.
- Regular “broadcast” communication to cohorts of undergraduate EE/CpE students regarding academic requirements.
- Checking SDP prerequisites managing Senior Design registrations; advising students who have Senior Design prerequisite issues.
- Investigating and acting on prerequisite violations listed in pre-semester PERC reports; advising students who have prerequisite issues.
- Responding to requests or referrals for advising of undergraduate EE/CpE students.
- Responding to requests or referrals for advising of graduate ECE students, particularly in troublesome cases.
- Communicating with dean’s office concerning terms of academic probation or suspension.
- Coordinating the evaluation of EE/CpE transfer credits; acting as Primary Program Contact to the Transfer office.
- Managing requests for EE/CpE prerequisite overrides or degree requirement waivers; recording override and waiver approvals.
- Providing staff advisors with consultation concerning prerequisite overrides and degree requirement waivers.
- Overseeing degree clearance for undergraduate and graduate EE/CpE students; reviewing registrar’s graduation lists; overseeing electronic processing of approved requirement waivers or course substitutions.
