Key Responsibilities:
The Director of Finance serves as the operational financial leader for EmployInsure LLC and its brands, functioning in a Controller capacity to own the integrity of financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance across our multi-entity organization.
- General Ledger & Close: Own month-end and year-end close processes; maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements across all entities (EmployInsure, Samuel Hale, Evoove).
- Financial Reporting: Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; develop executive-ready dashboards and commentary for CFO and leadership.
- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Lead the annual budget process; track actuals vs. budget; provide variance commentary and corrective recommendations.
- Cash Management & Forecasting: Manage daily cash position, short-term forecasting, and banking relationships to ensure operational liquidity.
- AP/AR Oversight: Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions; ensure timely collections and vendor payment cycles.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Design, implement, and monitor internal controls; ensure compliance with federal/state tax requirements, GAAP, and audit readiness.
- Insurance & Captive Reporting: Support the CFO with financial reporting related to captive insurance structure, workers’ compensation reserves, and loss ratio analysis.
- Team & Vendor Management: Supervise accounting staff; manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement of ERP and accounting systems; drive automation and data integrity across the finance function.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience; Controller or equivalent scope required.
- Proven leader; 5 years of experience leading teams and elevating team members’ capacities and contributions.
- Multi-entity or multi-subsidiary experience highly preferred; PEO, staffing, insurance, or financial services background strongly valued.
- Strong command of GAAP; experience with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and multi-state tax compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP and accounting platforms; Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) required.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clean, executive-ready financial reporting independently.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a growth-stage environment.
- Experience building scalable financial processes; bias toward automation and continuous improvement.
