Housekeeping Director

Position Summary:
The Director of Housekeeping oversees the cleanliness, presentation, and Forbes Five-Star standards of all guest rooms, suites, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This leader fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and service integrity while ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance across all operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Train, coach, and develop a high-performing team that upholds The Umstead’s Vision & Values and The Associate Charter.
• Maintain departmental budgets, labor forecasts, and inventory controls.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Partner with Front Office, Spa, Engineering, and culinary teams for seamless service delivery.
• Utilize Paycom and property management systems for scheduling, payroll, and communication.
• Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process of housekeeping associates.    
• Direct and manage all housekeeping, laundry, and public area operations.
• Conduct daily guest room inspections to ensure quality of service is to our standard.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of luxury hotel housekeeping management experience.
• Forbes Five-Star or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Paycom, Opera, and Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work with cleaning agents using proper PPE.
