Lead Electronic Monitor
Location: Jacksonville, FL
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Operations
Reports To: Facility Director

Position Overview

The Lead Electronic Monitor provides day-to-day operational leadership for the Electronic Monitoring function, ensuring continuous compliance with court orders, contractual requirements, program policies, and safety standards.

This position serves as the primary functional lead for Electronic Monitoring staff and acts as the first point of escalation for alerts, incidents, technical issues, and operational concerns. The Lead Electronic Monitor also performs hands-on monitoring duties, supports staff through coaching and training reinforcement, and serves as a liaison between frontline staff, management, vendors, and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and experienced in electronic monitoring, community corrections, residential programs, or a related setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day operational oversight of Electronic Monitoring operations
  • Provide direction, coaching, mentoring, and support to Electronic Monitoring staff
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and reinforcement of monitoring procedures
  • Monitor daily workflows to ensure proper coverage, timely responses, and compliance with procedures
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for staff questions, alerts, violations, technical issues, and operational concerns
  • Install, orient, and remove electronic monitoring devices in accordance with court orders and program standards
  • Monitor assigned clients to ensure compliance with court orders, supervision conditions, and program rules
  • Respond to alerts, violations, and equipment notifications in accordance with policy and contractual timelines
  • Review monitoring logs and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Ensure proper escalation and documentation of violations, incidents, safety concerns, and equipment issues
  • Maintain inventory control and accountability for electronic monitoring equipment, including active, idle, and stored devices
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance concerns, malfunctions, or equipment loss
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison with electronic monitoring vendors, including Attenti
  • Identify recurring technology or equipment issues and recommend process improvements
  • Support safety, security, and emergency response procedures for staff, clients, visitors, volunteers, and the surrounding community
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports, logs, and forms using proper format, grammar, and spelling
  • Read, interpret, and enforce applicable policies, procedures, emergency plans, and directives
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and briefings

Required Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

Minimum of two years of experience using computer-based systems

Experience in electronic monitoring, community corrections, residential programs, or a related setting

Ability to work in a structured, safety-sensitive, or high-accountability environment

Willingness to work with justice-involved or at-risk populations

Licenses / Certifications

Valid Florida driver’s license in accordance with Florida Statute 322.031(3)

Ability to pass a background screening and meet Florida Department of Corrections requirements, if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

Prior lead or supervisory experience in electronic monitoring or a related field

Experience working with justice-involved or at-risk populations

College coursework or degree in criminal justice, social services, or a related field

Schedule Expectations

Full-time schedule

Monday - Friday, either 5 -1 or 1-9

Evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage may be required based on operational needs

Overtime may be available based on operational needs
