Job Summary:
The Crossing Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety of children and pedestrians crossing the street at designated locations. The successful candidate will be required to work in all weather conditions and be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and drivers.
- Assist children and pedestrians in crossing the street safely
- Direct traffic as necessary to ensure the safety of pedestrians
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and drivers
- Report any safety concerns to the appropriate authorities
- Attend training sessions as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Maybe requested to assist with Parking Enforcement monitoring metered parking and other areas, issuing tickets to parking violators. The major portion of the work is routine, but responsible enforcement work requiring mature judgment and courtesy in dealing with owners of illegally parked vehicles and the general public.

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 9:30am (Crossing Guard)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 3pm to 4pm (Crossing Guard)
Wednesday Afternoon Crossing Guard – 1pm to 2pm
Part Time Compensation Range:
$16.61/hourly to $19/hourly (Depending on education and prior Town Administration experience)
Salary : $17 - $19
