Job Summary:
Terrace Inn is seeking a friendly and professional Front Desk Agent to join our team. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be our guests' first point of contact, and set the tone for their experience at the Inn. Your role will involve handling guest inquiries, managing reservations, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their stay. A warm and welcoming demeanor, as well as an enthusiasm for guest service, are key to success in this role.
Duties:
- Greet guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor
- Responsible for creating a positive guest experience, beginning at the reservation process, throughout the guest’s departure.
- Responsible for checking in guests and providing them with information about the hotel, 1911 Restaurant, and other offerings throughout the property.
- Act as a concierge as needed, providing guests with local area information, suggestions for entertainment and recreation, and assisting with dining reservations.
- Answer the main hotel telephone line, respond to inquiries and book reservations for the hotel and restaurant.
- Answer questions concerning and/or giving directions to hotel facilities
- Log and notify guests of receipt of mail, messages, and packages
- Maintain correct information and materials regarding hotel facilities and services, and local restaurants and attractions
- Hold luggage and mail for guests as required.
- Perform basic office duties.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby for guests, including dusting, vacuuming, and refilling coffee station, etc.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Process payments and maintain accurate records of transactions
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure guest needs are met
- Cross training and other duties as required
Experience:
- Previous experience in hospitality is preferred
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong guest relations skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service
- Familiarity with front desk operations and hotel reservation systems
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in using phone systems, computers, and other office equipment
