Director of Training
Confidential, high-growth, multi-brand QSR platform
Location: Miami or New York metro preferred. Heavy field presence.
We are hiring a Director of Training to build the learning engine that scales great food, great service, and great leadership across a fast-growing platform. If you have operated restaurants and built training systems that stick, this is your seat at the table.
The opportunity
We are a privately held, rapid growth QSR group operating in non-traditional, contract foodservice retail formats. We are profitable, expanding, and moving from founder-led hustle to a repeatable operating system across multiple brands and venue types. Training is the lever that keeps quality high as we grow.
The mission
Own the strategy and execution for role-based training across corporate-operated locations and licensed partners. Build programs that develop hourly teams, shift leaders, and multi-unit leaders. Create the tools, routines, and accountability measures that ensure training is consistent across every market.
What you'll do
- Build a scalable training strategy across brands, venue types, and operating models
- Create and maintain training playbooks, SOPs, and job aids for front of house and back of house roles
- Design onboarding that gets new hires productive fast while protecting guest experience and food quality
- Develop leadership training for Assistant Managers, General Managers, and Regional leaders, including coaching habits and performance routines
- Build train the trainer programs and certification standards for field trainers and leaders
- Partner with Operations, Culinary, HR, and Marketing to ensure training matches the brand promise and the operating model
- Support new openings and market launches with training plans, staffing readiness, and on-site execution
- Own the learning tech stack, including LMS content, completion tracking, and reporting
- Use data to improve training effectiveness, including readiness, time to proficiency, turnover, audits, and guest metrics
- Ensure training supports food safety, compliance, and partner requirements where applicable
The ideal profile
- 10 plus years in restaurant operations, training, or learning and development with multi-unit experience
- Proven track record building training programs in QSR or fast casual environments
- Strong field presence and ability to coach leaders in real time in restaurants
- Experience building structured content and tools, including SOPs, checklists, job aids, and certification guides
- Comfort with learning systems and basic reporting. You can measure adoption and outcomes, not just completion
- High standards and high empathy. You can raise the bar without creating friction
- Able to work across stakeholders, including corporate teams and licensed partners
- Comfortable traveling heavily and being where the work happens
Why this role
- Proven model with momentum and a clear operating direction
- Direct impact on growth, retention, quality, and leader development across the platform
- Strong partnership with senior leadership and a seat at the table as the training function scales
- Competitive package with meaningful performance incentives and long term upside potential
