JOB TITLE: IT Systems Technician / Administrator

Supervised and Evaluated by: IT Systems Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the IT/Systems Manager, the IT Systems Technician / Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise IT systems, ensuring security, efficiency, and operational continuity. This role includes overseeing device deployment and management, configuring security policies, and assisting with large-scale IT projects. The IT Systems Technician / Administrator also provides technical support for hardware, operating systems, applications, and network services while implementing modern IT solutions to enhance security and streamline workflows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT Systems Technician / Administrator / Administrator must be able to perform all essential functions of the position consistently and successfully.
- Microsoft 365 Tenant Administration
- Perform account management, and PC provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Manage permissions, group policies, and directory structures.
- Oversee Microsoft 365 / Entra ID (Azure AD) configurations.
- Maintain security, access, and authentication policies.
- Application Support & Vendor Coordination
- Administer enterprise software, permissions, and configurations.
- Serve as the primary contact for IT-related vendor support.
- Knowledgebase, SOPs & Documentation
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
- Contribute to the internal knowledgebase for IT support.
- Escalation & Mentorship
- Act as an escalation point for IT support issues requiring higher-level technical expertise.
- Mentor junior staff and end-users on IT best practices.
- Hardware & Onsite Support
- Provide onsite and remote troubleshooting for workstations, laptops, peripherals, and network devices.
- Diagnose and resolve Windows/Linux OS, driver, NIC, and hardware failures.
- Perform hardware repairs, upgrades, and replacements as needed.
- Software & Network Connectivity
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop applications, system software, and authentication issues.
- Resolve Active Directory / Entra ID profile, permissions, and access issues.
- Support basic network troubleshooting, switch configuration, and VLAN assignments.
- Asset & Inventory Management
- Track, manage, and maintain IT hardware, software licenses, and inventory records.
- Oversee Move-Add-Change (MAC) requests, including new device deployments and reassignments.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the necessary skills and abilities for this position.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Experience in both technical and operational aspects of IT systems administration. Firsthand experience with Intune, Entra ID, Active Directory, and endpoint management.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Displays the ability to convey information to others effectively and efficiently. Displays good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills to help facilitate meaningful sharing of information and to provide excellent customer service skills to all stakeholders. Stakeholders include but are not limited to the classroom teacher, individuals served, peers, supervisors, related service staff, behavior support staff, parents, and families.
- OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues independently. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on decision-making and process improvements. Ability to maintain composure and adapt to urgent or difficult situations. Capacity to develop and implement new policies, security settings, and IT standards proactively.

- The person in this position frequently communicates with staff. Must be able to converse/communicate so others understand and exchange accurate information.

- Constantly operates a computer and other devices, such as an iPad, copy machine, and computer printer, various software necessary to complete essential functions of the job.
