The Suffolk Y JCC is looking for hard working, professional Lead Teachers for our newly updated infant rooms.
Do you love working with children and making a difference in their lives? Candidates will lead a class of young children, supporting their educational, social and emotional needs. Our program includes enriching music, physical fitness and cultural programs all within our community center.

Essential Functions
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the ages of the children in their charge
- promote each child’s cognitive, educational, social, cultural, physical, emotional and recreational development
- Establish and implement programs and activities
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.
- Communicate directly with parents to achieve success for each child.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with all children and their families
Educational Requirements:
- AA or BA in Education or a CDA with a concentration in infant/toddler education and one year experience in a related field working with children
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Employee must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Employee must have the ability to handle, manipulate, or control objects with hands and fingers
- Employee must have the ambulatory ability to stand, walk, sit, and reach for objects
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Employee must have visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust vision focus
- Employee must have the ability to focus and work efficiently in an environment with low to moderate noise level
Skills and/or Experience Required:
- Experience working with young children in a child care setting
- Must have infant Experience
