JOB TITLE: RS Senior Aircraft Upholstery TechnicianLOCATION: Savannah, GAPAY RATE: $32.18/hour We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.Job Details: Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)Industry: Aerospace / Defense / AviationBenefits: Medical, dental, and vision (Cigna)Perks: Bonus potential Priority access via Tier 1 supplierOpenings Nationwide: Thousands of opportunities across the U.S.Qualifying Questions:Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations?Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?Summary: Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various assemblies/subassembliesInterpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure compliance with requirementsSew, fabricate, and install covers for all styles of interior panels while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standardsUse Corridor material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off workWork with design/drawings to cut and install advanced custom-design carpets with unique patternsAccept Lead responsibilities as needed; oversee projects and coordinate task delegation with the LeadConduct safety audits and assist team members with completing safety auditsAssist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAsChampion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; ensure protection of aircraft interiors (PTP)Mentor and train less-skilled technicians; monitor their work for safety, quality, and productivity complianceCollaborate with Lead and senior technicians to implement process improvements to reduce material cost, cycle time, and labor hours using Lean Six-Sigma toolsPerform other duties as assignedRequirements: High School Diploma or GED required4 years of upholstery experience, including 2 years of aircraft upholstery or 6 years of commercial upholstery experienceAdvanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes and productsAdvanced carpet knowledge, including the ability to install custom carpetsWorking knowledge of inspection and process specifications/terminologyAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English proficientlyAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentsComputer literacy requiredAbility to climb ladders and stairs, work in small/restricted areas, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shiftMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageMust be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).About Us:The Structures Company is a premier national aerospace and defense staffing agency specializing in contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire placements.
