POSITION SUMMARY
The Key Account Manager will lead a high-performing sales team responsible for driving growth, expanding distribution, and achieving volume and marketing objectives within assigned retail channels. This individual will manage strategic customer relationships, execute account-specific plans, and deliver strong business results through data-driven decision-making and proactive leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of key account relationships, including pricing, promotional planning, distribution, contracts, and accounts receivable.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with major retail customers to maximize sales opportunities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of new business representatives to achieve regional growth targets.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement annual contracts, pricing architecture, and promotional programs.
- Leverage deep channel and market insights to identify opportunities for growth and competitive advantage.
- Oversee annual customer commitments, ensuring accurate pricing and timely delivery of products and services.
- Continuously present creative solutions to expand existing customer partnerships and meet evolving client needs.
- Serve as a key liaison between customers and internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
- Evaluate ROI on trade programs, customized solutions, and marketing investments.
- Deliver on volume, revenue, and profit targets for assigned accounts.
- Prepare and present quarterly and annual business reviews.
- Drive new item authorizations and expand distribution across all relevant categories.
- Document and communicate outcomes from all key account meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; OR 10 years of progressive sales and account management experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), preferably beverage.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and large retail or distributor accounts.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success achieving sales, volume, and profitability objectives.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and trade marketing preferred.
