Division Controller
Our client, a fast-growing company in the Santa Ana, CA area, is looking to add a Division Controller to their team. This in-office role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment and enjoys partnering closely with operations to drive financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own job costing for the division — ensuring accurate cost coding, tracking margins, and monitoring over/under billings and change orders
- Lead month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements and reporting for division leadership
- Manage accounts receivable, including aging, collections, and billing accuracy
- Oversee compliance reporting requirements tied to public works/government-funded projects
- Manage subcontractor compliance, including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and payment documentation
- Support WIP (work-in-progress) schedule preparation and analysis for ongoing projects
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls
- Serve as a key financial partner to operations and project management teams
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of hands-on accounting experience in a project-based industry
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, journal entries, and monthly close
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems
- Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with process improvement
This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days a week).
Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
