Job Description
The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in East Orange, NJ for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a full-time Supervisor Nurse role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Active RN license valid in New Jersey
- Graduate of an accredited MSN program
- Current BLS CPR/AED certification
- Experience working with a pediatric population
- School-based nursing experience
- Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
- Pediatric diabetic care
- Ability to effectively triage and provide first aid care
- Medication administration
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses (headaches, stomachaches, injuries)
- Monitor students with chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, seizures, allergies, mental health conditions) and implement routine and PRN medications and care per orders
- Verify medical orders, document medication administration, and safely administer routine and PRN medications
- Act as the lead responder to medical emergencies on campus
- Train staff on emergency protocols and equipment use
- Develop and update IHPs (Individualized Healthcare Plans), IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), and 504 Plans related to medical conditions; participate in meetings as needed
- Collaborate with parents and school staff regarding students with medical needs
- Conduct or assist with health screenings (vision, hearing, growth/BMI, blood pressure)
- Delegate and supervise nursing tasks in accordance with state regulations
