The Steamship Authority is currently seeking to fill the position of
Manager of Workforce Training & Development at the Steamship
Authority\'s Falmouth administrative office location. This is a
full-time, non-union position. Position Function: The Manager of
Workforce Training & Development is responsible for leading
organizational wide trainings & career pathways through coordinating,
management & execution of workforce development programs. The Manager
will proactively assess the needs of the organization & work closely
with internal stakeholders. Duties & Responsibilities: Implement &
oversee organization-wide training programs, including employee customer
service, supervisory development, & any workforce & HR-related
trainings. Collaborate with the management team to provide workforce
development, planning & support. Facilitate various staff training
courses held with internal & external parties. Oversee the
implementation of customer facing training programs. Develop & launch
career pathways & its curriculum for career tracks. Manage employee
opinion & workforce-related surveys while assisting managers in
implementing a results-oriented action plan. Develop staff & supervisory
training for new hires & periodically though the year for all staff.
Implement a train the trainer model with consultation from external
vendors. Partner with community-based schools, colleges & training
programs that serve community residents. Assist with employee
recognition programs & events in collaboration with Human Resources
Director, managers, & staff. Manage execution of all activities,
projects, training & deadlines related to workforce development &
employee recognition. Provide function direction to subordinates
regarding SQMS disciplines. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of training experience. Excellent
customer service & cultural sensitivity are a must. Must have strong
interpersonal skills, effective communication, including written & oral.
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Teams) & other web-based applications. Ability to work with
confidential information. Highly organized with ability to manage
multiple projects at once. Fluency in Portuguese &/or Spanish highly
desired.
