The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for a Program Assistant Scheduler.
Proposed schedule includes:
6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday)
Must be flexible for potential weekend coverage (additional $2.00/hour)

Summary:
Performs high level administrative office and program support duties for the Program Analyst and Nurse Managers in the implementation of nursing department scheduling program at the New Hampshire Veterans Home (NHVH).

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in public relations, marketing, business administration or communications related field, two years of which shall have been associated with responsibility for providing program information to others.
License/Certification: None

Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative scheduling coordination while maintaining and releasing scheduling information
- Provides program guidance and advisement to nurse managers regarding the scheduling program.
- Assists Program Analyst and Nursing Management in coordinating the nursing scheduling program to ensure proper staffing levels throughout the Veterans Home while remaining in compliance with regulations from the New Hampshire Board of Nursing, Department of Veterans Affairs, and State of New Hampshire personnel rules.
- Assumes responsibility for the time management program to verify availability of annual leave for the nursing department.
- Enters all new hires into schedule software, contacts the new hire with a welcome letter and a schedule of their orientation and work schedule. Responsible for the data management of staff for the nursing department via scheduling software, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
- Compiles and prepares scheduling program information for use by Program Analyst and Nursing Management.
- Conducts operational training for any employee assisting as temporary scheduling coordinators.
- Assists Program Analyst in preparing Nursing Staff Profile for Annual VA survey.
- Assists in the development of operational policies and procedures related to staffing.
- Recommends policy or procedural changes or alternative work methods to improve the flow of work.
