The Startingate Ski Shop is looking for a reliable and motivated candidate to join our hard goods department for the upcoming ski season. Our hard goods department covers skis, bindings, boots, poles, helmets, goggles, touring equipment, race equipment, and any equipment accessories. Knowledge or experience in the ski industry is a bonus, but basic knowledge of the sport, as either an avid skier or snowboarder, is required. We will train you in everything else, including our list of brands and specifics. We are looking for a full-time candidate to start training immediately.
Candidates are expected to learn our inventory, brands, and styles quickly and by ski season, be able to work the sales floor alone without being supervised. During their shifts, Equipment Associates will be asked to work with customers on the sales floor and use our POS system. Equipment Associates will also work closely with our boot department and ski technicians to prepare customers' equipment quickly and efficiently. Our award-winning reputation is founded on customer service and ski expertise, so presentable attire, a friendly attitude, and knowledge of our store are a must.
Candidate requirements are:
- Knowledge of skiing/ snowboarding/ winter sports.
- Presentable attire.
- Great customer service skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Comfortable selling and recommending different ski equipment depending on the customer.
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly sales floor.
- Ability to work days alone and self-motivate.
- Work quickly and efficiently.
- Punctual.
- Weekends and holidays a must.
Bonus skills are:
- Worked in the ski industry.
- Previous sales experience.
- Knowledge of Retail Edge and Shopify.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
