Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Occupational Health & Safety Program Coordinator to support medical and regulatory compliance programs related to workers’ compensation, DOT, OSHA, and drug & alcohol testing requirements. This is a fully onsite, full-time contract opportunity in Springfield, VA.
In this role, you will coordinate medical care and compliance activities in support of workers’ compensation claims, drug and alcohol testing programs, pre-employment physicals, OSHA medical surveillance requirements, and fitness-for-duty determinations. The successful candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, persistence in follow-up, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and external medical providers.
Responsibilities
Provide onsite support to employees regarding occupational health and compliance matters.
Coordinate workers’ compensation documentation, pre-employment physicals, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and OSHA medical surveillance programs.
Administer and track DOT-compliant drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and follow-up).
Maintain accurate employee records and Excel-based tracking systems to ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, PHMSA, and FMCSA requirements.
Conduct annual DOT Clearinghouse queries for CDL drivers.
Communicate compliance status updates to employees and management and assist in resolving related issues.
Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through persistently.
Comfortable making phone calls and utilizing multiple communication channels (phone, email, Teams, chat).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
Experience working with web-based systems and tracking tools.
Prior experience in customer service or employee-facing support roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting DOT and/or OSHA compliance programs.
Familiarity with occupational health, safety, utilities, or similar regulated industries
