Responsibilities
- Own, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog for security engineering initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Cloud Security
- Identity and Access Management
- Security tooling and automation
- High-level customer support
- Elicit and synthesize requirements from both technical and non-technical stakeholders to guide strategic direction and prioritization
- Promote greater awareness, clarity, and accessibility of organizational policies and processes
- Convert regulatory mandates, internal policies, and stakeholder needs into clear product and process requirements, including well-defined user stories
- Create and maintain product roadmaps for security engineering automation tools, driving measurable gains in efficiency and risk mitigation
- Oversee and prioritize the team backlog, effectively balancing immediate demands with long-term strategic goals
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, ensuring alignment, transparency, and visibility into roadmaps and outcomes
- Track performance outcomes and leverage data and feedback to drive continuous improvement across processes and services
- 5 years of product management experience, including 4 years partnering closely with security engineering teams
- Proven ability to gather requirements, manage product backlogs, and deliver strategic roadmaps
- Strong knowledge of security concepts and technologies, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), security engineering, network security design, security operations, security architecture, engineering processes, cloud security, data loss prevention, zero trust, DevSecOps, and vulnerability management
- Security engineering–focused mindset with subject matter expertise and hands-on experience within a security domain
- Demonstrated success in optimizing and automating business processes through technology-driven solutions
- Experience supporting federal environments with in-depth knowledge of implementing cybersecurity frameworks and mandates such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, OMB Memorandum M-22-09, and NIST SP 800-53
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently address complex security challenges
- Experience working within Agile development frameworks and collaborating closely with engineering and DevOps teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven track record of effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent software engineering experience
- Experience operating in Agile environments
- Extensive experience partnering with engineering teams and enterprise architects
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategy for security engineering initiatives
- Skilled at translating complex technical security concepts into clear, actionable product requirements
- Ability to effectively manage and engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong familiarity with DevOps tools and practices
- W2 Hourly rate: $95 - $110. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, and location, and are subject to change at any time.
