The Squires Group is seeking a Core HR / Compensation Functional Lead for a large-scale transformational HCM and Compensation modernization effort for a government organization. This role offers the chance to shape how HR and compensation processes are built from the ground up—while contributing to a program that prioritizes stability, scalability, and employee experience.
The work is primarily remote, with 30%-50% travel to the Pacific Northwest. Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders.

Responsibilities
- Lead Core HCM and Compensation workstreams within a Workday implementation
- Facilitate design workshops and guide best‑practice decisions
- Configure Workday Core HR and Compensation modules
- Collaborate closely with Payroll, Finance, and Integrations teams
- Support testing cycles, deployment activities, and go-live execution
- Hands-on Workday Core HCM and Compensation implementation experience
- Strong functional leadership and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience leading design sessions and translating business needs into Workday solutions
- Willingness to travel up to 30–50%
