We are seeking an experienced Appian Developer to work REMOTE supporting a federal automation initiative focused on streamlining benefits processing, mail triage, and FOIA automation. This multi-year program requires the development and integration of a scalable automation platform using advanced technologies including AI, RPA, OCR/ICR, NLP, and machine learning.
The ideal candidate will work within a complex IT environment, integrating various systems through APIs and evolving architectures. Strong experience with unattended automation and processing of structured and unstructured data (text, voice, images) is essential.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation workflows using Appian for high-impact federal programs
- Integrate automation solutions with multiple systems through APIs and user interfaces
- Contribute to the configuration, debugging, and system integration of automation services
- Work with structured and unstructured data (e.g., text, images, voice) to power automation
- Support migration to new data services and evolving API-based architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
- Certified Level 2 Appian Developer
- 3 years of senior-level Appian development experience
- 1 year developing Appian plugins
- Experience managing on-prem Appian environments
- 2 years in systems integration and interface configuration
- Proficiency with relational databases and SQL
- Agile development experience
- SOAP and REST API design and implementation

- Federal project experience
- Java and Kubernetes familiarity
- Experience with Appian performance tuning and cloud resource management
