The Assistant Director of Health Services (ADHS) supports the Director of Health Services in overseeing resident wellness and clinical operations, with a primary focus on the Memory Care community. This role plays a key part in ensuring quality resident care, medication management, regulatory compliance, and staff training.
The ADHS serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for medication technicians and caregiving staff while fostering strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing resident health and wellness programs within the community
- Conduct resident assessments including move-in, quarterly, and significant change assessments
- Monitor medication administration systems and ensure accuracy of physician orders and MAR documentation
- Train, mentor, and observe medication technicians to ensure compliance and quality care
- Review pharmacy consultant reports and follow up on clinical recommendations
- Investigate medication errors and implement corrective action plans
- Conduct audits related to medication administration, narcotics, skin concerns, and regulatory compliance
- Support infection control procedures and community health initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams regarding resident care
- Participate in quality assurance and service planning efforts
- Help maintain compliance with Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations
- Current RN or LPN license in good standing
- CPR certification required
- 3–5 years of nursing experience preferred
- Senior living, Assisted Living, or Memory Care experience preferred
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and delegate effectively
- Comfortable using electronic charting systems and computer applications
- Knowledge of state healthcare regulations and clinical standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling required
