Privately owned retail store is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has a positive attitude, and can assist customers in selecting products while maintaining an organized and clean store.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
- Assist customers with product selection and recommendations
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with all alcohol sales laws
- Maintain well-organized merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stocking practices
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person with clear communication skills
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory checks to ensure product availability
- Support supervising staff during busy periods by helping oversee daily store operations and ensuring a smooth shopping experience
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Retail or liquor store experience is a plus but not required
