The Spay Neuter Project is one of Missouri's highest-volume nonprofit spay/neuter clinics. Since opening our doors in 2015, we've helped more than 47,000 animals receive affordable veterinary care, reducing pet overpopulation throughout Mid-Missouri.

We're looking for an exceptional Clinic Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our clinic. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building strong teams, solving problems, improving systems, and creating a workplace where employees can do their best work.

If you're a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants your work to make a meaningful difference in your community, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As Clinic Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of our nonprofit veterinary clinic while supporting a dedicated team committed to our mission.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop clinic staff
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and supportive workplace culture
  • Manage daily clinic operations and workflow
  • Coordinate employee schedules and staffing
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new team members
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching
  • Resolve employee and client concerns professionally
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships
  • Complete daily financial reconciliation and bank deposits
  • Help improve systems, efficiency, and standard operating procedures
  • Work closely with our veterinarian and Board of Directors to support organizational goals

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Leads with integrity, professionalism, and compassion
  • Enjoys mentoring and developing people
  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Can confidently make decisions and solve problems
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Takes initiative and follows through
  • Believes in creating a positive, mission-driven workplace

Qualifications

Required

  • Three or more years of leadership or management experience
  • Experience supervising employees and providing coaching and accountability
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business software

Preferred

  • Veterinary, healthcare, nonprofit, or animal welfare experience
  • Experience with hiring, onboarding, and employee development
  • Experience managing budgets, inventory, or office operations

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
