Role Description
The Community Support Representative (Workforce Integrator) will engage with local community members to provide assistance, resources, and support to individuals seeking employment, connecting them to local employment partners and opportunities. Responsibilities include direct interaction with neighbors, delivering exceptional customer service, connecting people to appropriate resources, conducting outreach activities, and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. This is a part-time on-site position located in Lancaster, TX.
Functions
- Assist neighbors with job search / employment services
- Serves neighbors seeking assistance with dignity and respect
- Assists in collecting, recording, and reporting data in support of workforce development
- Helps to plan and conduct special employment events and participate in local business fairs
- Meets with local businesses and employees to conduct job research
- Assists with developing marketing materials and presentations
- Ensures policies and procedures are followed
- Assists at the front desk as needed
- Efficiently sorts and evaluates donations, placing them appropriately in designated bins
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
- Community Engagement and Community Outreach skills
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Experience in Workforce Development or other customer-focused roles
- Ability to build relationships and establish trust with individuals and community groups
- Organizational and time management skills
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in social services, community work, or related fields is a plus
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are highly valued
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team or alone.
- Computer skills, including web browsing skills and Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
- Desire to serve our neighbors and carry out the mission of SVDP.
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly desired.
- Ability to work under pressure and comfortable engaging with people of different cultural and economic backgrounds in a faith-based setting are necessary.
