THE ROLE


As a Paid Media Manager at The Social Shepherd, you’ll manage the day-to-day paid strategy and execution for your client accounts. Sitting within our Paid Media team, you aren’t just launching ads, you are driving holistic, full-funnel strategies that encompass both Paid Social and Paid Search, primarily for eCommerce brands.


You will act as the day-to-day lead for key clients, ensuring our media buying and ad creatives are both world-class and results-driven.


You’ll be highly strategic, analytical, and creative, seamlessly translating data into new media optimisations and creative opportunities.


This role will have the strategic backing and support of our senior paid media strategists, while giving you the opportunity to directly manage and mentor a Paid Media Executive.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead the development and execution of cross-channel paid strategies (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.), ensuring every media buy, search and social campaign, and budget allocation contributes directly to wider client acquisition goals.
  • Constantly optimise account performance by monitoring platform updates, search trends, and algorithm changes, proactively testing and scaling tactics in real time to keep clients ahead of the curve.
  • Collaborate closely with our creative team, bridging the gap between data and design by translating performance metrics into clear, actionable creative briefs for new ad statics, videos, and hooks.
  • Line-manage a Paid Media Executive, overseeing their workload and providing the data-driven support, guidance, and mentorship needed to develop their media buying and analytical skills.
  • Take an active role in team development, running regular 1:1s, fostering a positive performance culture, and ensuring your direct report feels supported, challenged, and inspired.
  • Deliver comprehensive client reporting, moving beyond basic platform metrics to provide deep-dive analysis, commercial insights, and a clear story of ROI and business growth.
  • Take ownership of client KPIs, balancing high-level strategic thinking with everyday execution to continuously refine campaigns and consistently meet and exceed targets.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3 years of experience managing paid media campaigns for brands. While agency experience is preferred, you’ll be highly confident working across both Paid Social and Paid Search in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
  • A balanced analytical and creative mindset. You don't just love looking at spreadsheets; you understand the psychology of the scroll, how target audiences behave, and how great creative hooks translate into conversions.
  • A strong communicator and relationship builder. You can confidently talk numbers with senior stakeholders, translate complex data into simple insights for clients, and brainstorm seamlessly with our internal creative specialists.
  • Excellent technical and media buying skills. You have a proven track record of managing budgets, structure building, and audience targeting across platforms like Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to proactively manage multiple projects, ad spend budgets, and client deadlines without missing a beat.
  • High levels of ambition and drive, with a genuine passion for staying ahead of platform changes, privacy updates, and emerging paid media strategies to deliver maximum impact.
  • Leadership potential, with the enthusiasm and emotional intelligence to support, guide, and mentor more junior team members as our paid media department continues to grow.

Compensation Range: $70,000 to $79,500 annually.


This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.


For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, 401k, and paid time off.
