Job Summary
Local family owned Smog Shop is currently looking for Automotive Technicians. The best candidates should be able to inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks, utilizing computerized diagnostic equipment to identify issues with engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Responsibilities include routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations), brake repairs, and repairing components to meet manufacturer standards, often while providing customer service and technical explanations
Certification: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly valued
Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varied environments (e.g., crouching, bending).
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to diagnose complex, non-obvious issues
Valid driver's license is required
Personal set of tools

Responsibilities
- Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
- Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
- Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
- Smog license preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communications skills are required
Salary : $18 - $40
