The Skinny Pancake is seeking a creative, organized, and design-savvy individual to support the execution of our brand and marketing campaigns in a Design and Marketing Specialist position. This part-time role plays a key part in growing revenue and visibility across the regions we serve.
You’ll assist with day-to-day marketing activities, including graphic design, print production, merchandise coordination, and general campaign support. The ideal candidate is aesthetically driven, highly organized, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. While restaurant experience isn’t required, you should thrive in our fast-paced, mission-driven environment—and find joy in shaping how our brand looks and feels.

Design and Marketing Specialist Qualifications and Key Skills
- 2 years of graphic design experience in a marketing or agency environment
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom)
- Skilled in both print and digital design, with strong layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
- Highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborative and receptive to creative feedback
- Experience designing branded merchandise and apparel
- Comfortable using project/content tools like Wrike, Later, or Asana
- Portfolio showcasing a range of creative work; food, restaurant, or CPG experience preferred
- Bonus skills: photography, basic motion graphics, and video editing
- Part-time role based in Burlington, VT, with at least two in-person collaborative workdays per week
- Restaurant or food & beverage industry experience strongly preferred
Design and Marketing Specialist Key Responsibilities:
Design:
- Create social media assets that align with brand personas and explore new marketing approaches
- Design print and digital advertising materials that are informative and visually engaging
- Print and distribute promotional and functional materials (menus, handbills, table tents, signage, etc.) across locations
- Perform light signage fabrication (wide-format printing, grommeting, framing, hanging displays)
- Support merchandise development by designing new products, improving existing items, and contributing to e-commerce offerings
Merchandise Fillment:
- Receive, pack, and ship online merch orders
- Deliver retail merchandise to locations, coordinate with the food hub, and update inventory in Restaurant 365 (R365)
- Maintain organized backstock and conduct monthly inventory counts, submitting data by the 5th of each month
- Monitor low stock and collaborate with the marketing team to reorder, refresh, or pivot product offerings
- Manage vendor communications for reordering and receiving, including occasional pickups
In-house Marketing & Administrative work:
- Ensure accurate and effective signage within each location’s four walls
- Assist with the assessment, design, and display of branded materials (menus, merchandise, signage)
- Support creation, review, and distribution of marketing materials across outlets
- Help source, curate, and install rotating art in locations on a quarterly or bi-annual basis
