Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: The Sip – Poulsbo, WA
Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week
Compensation: $18.50/hour tips
Reports To: Owners
Position Overview:
The Sip is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, critical thinking and team-focused Operations Manager to oversee daily front-of-house (FOH) and kitchen operations, ensuring smooth execution of service, staffing, cleanliness, and event coordination. This individual will work closely with ownership and the events team to deliver exceptional guest experience while maintaining operational excellence. Must be 21 years of age.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Shift Leadership
- Actively work in The Sip during high-volume hours and most events, leading by example and ensuring service standards are upheld.
- Provide hands-on support to the team during peak periods, helping to identify and resolve issues in real time.
- Be highly visible and available to both staff and guests during critical service windows (Friday and Saturday nights)
Event Coordination
- Collaborate with the Events Coordinator to ensure events are properly staffed and executed.
- Support owners at monthly team meetings:
- Co-create meeting agendas with owners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for team questions, conflicts, and operational concerns.
- Conduct weekly check-ins with ownership to review priorities and progress.
Facility & Cleanliness Oversight
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization throughout The Sip:
- Ensure daily restroom cleaning and weekly deep cleans.
- Floors must be mopped weekly; FOH areas like around the shuffleboard table must be swept or vacuumed daily.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce FOH and kitchen cleaning checklists.
- Hold staff accountable for completion.
- Ensure all visual and experiential details reflect The Sip’s upscale yet approachable brand (plants watered, displays tidy, etc.).
Kitchen & Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory to PAR levels and ensure supplies are stocked for daily operations and events.
- Coordinate mid-week purchasing to support high-volume days and events.
- Develop prep plans for events (e.g., scooping ice cream in advance, prepping boards and backstock of food).
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness to owner standards:
- Schedule and enforce weekly deep cleaning (including fridges, prep tables, under counters, and walls).
- Keep the storage closet organized and fully stocked; proactively manage supply inventory to avoid outages.
Qualifications:
- 3 year of experience in hospitality, restaurant, or retail management preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Confident in team leadership and holding staff accountable.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and during events.
- Must be detail-oriented, a critical thinking and committed to delivering a high-quality customer and team experience.
Pay: $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 28.0 – 32.0 per week
