Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Dog Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer efforts dedicated to the daily exercise of our dogs. The shift time is 11:30am to 4pm. Volunteer hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm-2pm. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsibile for facilitating this process during this time and performing additional walks themselves from 2pm-4pm. We are currently looking to fill this position for 3 days a week- Wednesday through Friday.
Duties
- Retrieving and returning dogs in a kennel environment.
- Fitting each dog with a collar, harness, and leash.
- Providing each volunteer with a dog based on individual preferences and abilities.
- Monitoring dog behavior and intervening if necessary.
- Monitoring dog handling and educating if necessary.
- Creating a safe and enjoyable space for our volunteers.
- Spot cleaning the Training Room.
- Keeping track of how often the dogs are walked.
- Administering flea/tick medication to the dogs seasonally.
Experience
- Prior experience in supervising or managing volunteers
- Public speaking skills, ability to train and correct volunteers as needed.
- Animal care experience is a MUST!
- Dog handling experience, including large dogs, bully breeds, and dogs with behavioral issues is a MUST!
- Must be able to retrieve dogs and put back in a timely manner.
- Must have a passion for the well-being of animals
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must be willing to work in all different types of weather.

Pay: From $16.94 per hour
