Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Store Associate to join our team at The Shipping Depot in Gainesville, GA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations by handling transactions, assisting customers with shipping needs, and maintaining an organized and efficient workspace. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a cash register, processing payments for shipping services, PO mailbox rentals, and other transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Scan packages to track shipments and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist customers in packaging shipments safely and securely, following depot guidelines and best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely pickup and delivery of packages.
- Manage in-store PO mailboxes and assisting customers with mailbox inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, answering questions and resolving issues as needed.
- Perform basic inventory checks of shipping supplies (e.g., boxes, tape, labels) and notify management when restocking is required.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in English with verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Prior experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle cash, credit card transactions, and basic math calculations with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using scanning equipment, computers, and cash register systems (training provided).
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
