What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser/Food Runner position at The Shed?
Responsibilities:
Table Maintenance: Clear and clean tables promptly after guests finish their meals. Remove used utensils, dishes, and glassware, and ensure tables are properly reset with clean tableware and condiments.
Assisting Servers: Support servers by refilling beverages, delivering additional utensils or condiments, and responding to guest requests as needed. Collaborate with servers to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth service.
Food Delivery: Retrieve prepared food items from the kitchen and deliver them to the appropriate tables. Ensure accurate and efficient food delivery, confirming orders with guests and addressing any concerns or special requests.
Bussing Stations: Keep bussing stations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies, including napkins, straws, and cleaning supplies. Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need replenishment.
Customer Interaction: Provide friendly and attentive service to guests, assisting with inquiries, offering menu recommendations, and ensuring their overall satisfaction with the dining experience. Address any guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of dishes and utensils, as well as cleanliness of dining areas and service stations. Follow established procedures for maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, hosts/hostesses, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate food delivery and guest service.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and lift objects throughout the shift.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
