As a Civil & Structural Designer, you will play a critical role in developing 2D and 3D design deliverables that support modular steel structures, piping systems, electrical components, and equipment foundations.
Summary:
The main task of the CSA designer as a BIM Revit modeler is creation and administration of standards, templates, families, and metadata for Revit 2024-2025. The position requires both creating these items for Revit and operating Revit.This role also requires training coworkers to use Revit.
The CSA designer also prepares 2D/3D design and construction deliverables while creating clash free structural models. Ensures structures are of sound design working collectively with engineers and following industry codes and standards. These include modular steel structures, piping, electrical, equipment supports as well as material take-offs and miscellaneous reports. Designs are developed while referencing drawings, models, and other data from multiple design disciplines (piping, electrical, mechanical, civil).
Responsibilities:
- Provide design team with design guidance and direction.
- Define scope and project objectives to accomplish design goals.
- Respond to both internal and external communication regarding project or design status.
- Partner with team members to ensure projects meet objectives.
- Perform self-check and checking of others.
- Maintain multi-discipline communication.
- Develop 3D structural models.
- Create 2D deliverables, such as fabrication drawings.
- Optimize existing designs to aid equipment layout and module transportation.
- Operate and lead activities requiring Revit
- Train coworkers in Revit
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of closely related experience in Revit.
- High School (High school diploma) Diploma or equivalent.
- Design/Drafting Certificate (Trades certificate / diploma) or a minimum of 5 years of related job experience.
- AutoCAD Advance Steel is a plus
- Navisworks is as plus
- Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
- PDF Editor (Intermediate)
- AISC standards and practices (Intermediate)
- Industry Standards: PIP, plant layout, piping and design standards (Intermediate)
- OSHA Regulations is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time
