Do you have strong attention to detail and enjoy sewing, quilting, embroidery, or other types of crafting? Join our team as a part-time Inventory Clerk and Retail Associate. This position offers the opportunity to exercise your attention to detail and desire for accuracy while working in a creative environment with a strong community of customers. In this role, your primary responsibility will be maintaining an accurate inventory on the retail floor as new inventory is ordered, existing inventory is sold in-person and online, old inventory is donated or disposed of. When inventory variance are found you will be responsible for correcting those variances in our Point of Sale system, while also determining why the variance occurred and how future variances can be prevented. When needed, you will also work with customers on the retail floor and on the phone to help them locate, research, and purchase products.
This is a part-time role. We estimate it between 15 and 30 hours per week.
- Monitor low inventory reports from point of sale (POS) and ecommerce system
- Draft and review product orders with management
- Receive orders, reconcile delivery with order, update product quantities and costs in POS, place product on retail floor
- Develop and enter new product descriptions in point of sale and ecommerce system
- Select and upload pictures into POS
- Systematically review sales floor inventory approximately twice per year
- Play a critical role in end of year inventory
- Perform analysis to understand inventory variances and implement process improvement to reduce future variances
- Fill, pack, and ship ecommerce orders
- Assist on retail floor – greet customers, assist with finding product, enter and complete customer transactions on POS
- Other duties as needed and assigned
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs routinely and up to 45 lbs occasionally
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with the inventory component of a retail point of sale (POS) or ERP system
- Experience data analysis and updates with Microsoft Excel
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
