About us:
The Schoolhouse Studio provides enrichment classes at schools and community centers throughout Westchester County and surrounding areas. Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in an art enrichment class for ages 3-5. We currently have openings for a lead teacher and co-teacher in Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday afternoons starting early October.
-Teach from our detailed lesson plans, or you may develop your own plans that are aligned with the specific description of the class you are leading.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth.
-Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children between the ages of 3-5 years.
- Interest in teaching art classes with varied materials.
-Your own reliable transportation allowing you to commute to the job site and carry the necessary supplies. We deliver supplies to you in advance of class.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
-Must be available during afterschool hours. The exact timing varies by school. The Dobbs Ferry classes will run from 3:15-4pm. You must be able to arrive at the location at least 15 minutes ahead to park and clear security.
-The pay of $70-$75 is actually a per-class rate for the 45-minute contact time with students. You will have to spend some extra time familiarizing yourself with the planned activities before class and making sure the room is tidy afterward. We work to minimize your prep/cleanup time as much as possible.
