Essential Functions
- Provide support to teachers in the implementation of the math instructional components of the curriculum.
- Supports the school’s leadership team in developing the School Improvement Plan and monitoring the plan’s implementation.
- Teaches model lessons for teachers that illustrate effective instructional practices.
- Works closely with the Math Lead and Principal in planning, implementing, and assessing reform efforts at the school.
- Works with the school’s leadership team to develop and implement a staff-learning plan, based on identified professional development needs.
- Works collaboratively with District Offices to support district initiatives.
- Attend professional development led by the Office of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, or other offices (as directed).
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience in teaching Mathematics
- All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- PA Core State Standards, including the instructional shifts and their implications for instruction.
- the principles and methods of education.
- research related to the field of education.
- the principles of adult learning.
- best practices for coaching teachers and school leaders.
- observe lessons and give effective feedback based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching.
- develop and facilitate professional learning for school staff that is based on the tenets of impactful adult learning.
- communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.
