Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of electrical vocational training.
- Two (2) years of experience as an electrician.
- Journeyman Electrician license.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
- Four (4) years of experience as an electrician.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
- Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities
- Install, alter, maintain, and repair various electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and appliances.
- Lay out work, estimate costs, and requisition materials for assigned work orders.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot problems with electrical systems.
- Operate equipment as required to complete assigned tasks.
- Upgrade electrical systems to meet the needs of new technology.
- Compile with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping.
