About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for assisting alongside program leaders in planning and leading center members and activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the priority outcomes of the program.
Responsibilities include:
- Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.

Responsible for assisting to ensure all Red Shield Youth Center operational standards are implemented and maintained.

Implements and administers programs, services and activities for Center members in an effective manner.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.

- previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License
This job is performed in a youth center environment and out in the community. Time is also spent at facilities similar to youth recreational facility or community center. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and at times loud. Work sites are often located in low-income areas and challenging neighborhoods.
Position requires employees to occasionally work with challenging youth and family members:
- Speak with or assist upset parents/guardians.
- Occasionally to frequently speak with upset external partners or community members.
- May be exposed to emotional outbursts from youth or their family members and may be exposed to germs and children who are ill.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform a variety of physical activities on a regular basis requiring constant motion (standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling and hand-eye coordination) necessary to lead and participate in a variety of youth programming and physical activities.
- Ability to lift (or obtain assistance lifting) moderately heavy (30-60 lbs.) program equipment following appropriate safety precautions.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly.
- Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events.
