ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
This is a seasonal position.
This position is responsible for:
- Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities and/or kettle/angel tree sites, makes pick-ups and deliveries of donated items and other supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of acceptable driving techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of safety precautions associated with transporting passengers.
- Ability to drive a passenger vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers and protection of the vehicle. Ability to read and follow maps.
- Ability to gauge time needed to arrive at destination
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic.
- Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- And
- Two years experience operating an automotive vehicle, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
