Housing Monitor (7220)

Schedule/Hours: Part-Time

This position is responsible for:

Perform a wide variety of functions to ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of the shelter residents as well as the building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Update resident's admittance cards and tracking sheets. Input data as necessary into the computer system.

• Monitor client's day-to-day activities including scheduling and inventorying passes, taking of prescribed medication, and resident's general whereabouts.

• Maintain shelter logbook through documentation, as directed by the Shelter Director. Collects male and female urinalysis. Documents urinalysis and Breathalyzers test results.

• Mediate conflicts between residents.  Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and labeling.

• Perform other duties as determined by the Shelter Director to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the shelter and in accordance with the Salvation Army's mission.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Work requires the ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds.

• Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

• One year vocational/technical school degree and six months experience; OR

• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid driver’s license.
