CAMP DINING ROOM ATTENDANT
Location: Camp Hidden Lake, Lexington, Mississippi
Position Type: Temporary Full-Time
Pay Rate: $300.00 per week
This position is responsible for:
Assists in serving meals; cleans the kitchen and dining area; maintains inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines as well as American Camp Association accreditation standards.
- Maintains awareness of the dining area to ensure safety, fire, and health policies and procedures are observed at all times; reports any deviation to the Camp Dining Hall Supervisor.
- Maintains personal hygiene according to health regulations (e.g., washing hands, wearing hair back, closed-toe shoes, etc.); duties include setting tables, serving on the food line at all meals, cleaning the dining room, bathrooms, and surrounding areas.
- Cleaning of the dining hall includes sweeping, mopping, polishing, and waxing the floors in the kitchen and dining room.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the tables, chairs, condiment holders, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, coffee makers, stoves, and ovens.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to observe children and youth and ensure their safety.
- Some physical requirements of the Camp Dining Room Attendant position include endurance, which involves activities such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate dining room equipment and perform various activities.
- Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program at the available facility.
- Operate in daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.
- Six months of experience working in a kitchen preferred, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid Certified
