Bus Driver (5615)

Schedule/Hours: Seasonal Part-time – 27.5 hours a week

This position is responsible for:

Drives a Salvation Army bus in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides transportation for children to and from day camp and during day camp trips.
• Provides transportation for groups for summer camp.
• Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
• Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to drive a bus or other vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
• Work involves driving a bus or other vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND
• Two years experience operating a bus, OR
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License
