ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Schedule/Hours: Varying Schedule, including weekends and evenings. Temporary, Full-Time position.
Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour
This position is responsible for:
The Assistant Housing Manager is responsible for supporting the Shelter Program Manager in the administration, management, and delivery of all Inclement Weather Shelter guest services. The Assistant Housing Manager supervises Lead Shelter Residential Aides and Shelter Residential Aides. Directs day-to-day routine operations such as guest entry and exit, record keeping, food service and vendor relations. Ensures the safety of all guests and personnel and compliance with program guidelines; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures the Inclement Weather Shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists staff responsible for obtaining required data elements and entering same in the Housing Management Information System. Facilitates the preparation of case records as needed for case management and the recording of required data.
- Monitors the activities of the Inclement Weather Shelter guests ensuring safety and compliance with program guidelines. Monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; maintains a drug/alcohol/smoke free building; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.
- Serves as a point of contact for the security team and law enforcement partners; suggests improvements or changes to improve the safety of personnel and guests.
- Completes required paperwork representing guest intake for the day; inputs data into the computer to maintain computer records.
- Ensures staff understand their schedules, nightly stations, and supportive plans for high-needs clients.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to think, concentrate and learn.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
- Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, AND
- Two years’ experience performing security or social service work preferred, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
CPR/First Aid Preferred
