Advance Recovery.The Salvation Army is seeking a Director of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) to provide strategic and spiritual leadership within our Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Kansas City. This is an opportunity for an experienced, mission‑driven professional to lead a comprehensive rehabilitation program rooted in faith, compassion, and evidence‑based recovery practices.

Position OverviewThe Director of Rehabilitation Services provides executive‑level oversight of all rehabilitation programming, ensuring compliance, excellence in care, and alignment with Salvation Army values. This role supervises program staff, oversees counseling and treatment plans, manages reporting and budgets, and builds strong community partnerships—while modeling Christian leadership and service.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Clinical Leadership- Provide visionary leadership for rehabilitation services in partnership with the Program Administrator
- Oversee individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and beneficiary orientation
- Evaluate program outcomes and continuously improve services
- Ensure holistic care by integrating spiritual support and community resources
- Collaborate with Operations to integrate work therapy into rehabilitation plans
- Ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and reporting per Salvation Army policy
- Monitor electronic beneficiary records and program data integrity
- Participate in annual budgeting and review monthly expenditures
- Recruit, train, and supervise a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action as needed
- Supervise internship and training programs to develop future leaders
- Build partnerships with community agencies to support referrals and continuity of care
- Represent The Salvation Army mission in professional and community settings
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of administrative leadership in addiction recovery or behavioral health
- Valid driver’s license with insurability
- Personal commitment to Christian living and belief in spiritual regeneration as a solution to addiction and community disaffiliation
- Strong communicator capable of leading with compassion, clarity, and accountability

Work Environment & Requirements- Office-based within a residential rehabilitation center
- Occasional warehouse/store visits (closed‑toe, rubber‑soled shoes required)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Local KS/MO travel; minimal national travel for training
