OVERVIEW: The Emmanuel House Front Desk Clerk is responsible for assisting in facilitating and ensuring that all contact with the community and clients are handled in a professional and compassionate manner. The position is responsible for supporting the Director of Housing in the completion of his duties.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for afternoon and evening services provided at the facilityAccountable for collection of fees, oversight of all sleeping quarters, maintenance of dormitory records, filing of client information and statistical recordsAnswer phones, respond to inquiries and take messages when necessary, and see that all messages are delivered to the proper person on timeResponsible for ongoing security checks and setting of alarms throughout Salvation Army facilities. This includes lights, heat, air conditioning, window closure, locking of all doors and any other care of property items as neededOther related duties as requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent (required)Experience in human servicesExperience working in residential care facilitiesSKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of the community and resourcesKnowledge of residential care facilitiesAbility to work with people from diverse backgroundsAbility to work as a team with other staff members and volunteersDetail orientedGood communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
