GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Learning Zone Aide Summer works with children to improve skills and encourage growth. The position is temporary (12 weeks) for the summer on-site program.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisted with class activities for children in kindergarten to 6th grade.
- Assist with daily cleaning of Learning Zone areas.
- Assist and lead recreation and gym activities for children.
- Assist and lead enrichment program.
- Actively supervise children.
- Attend required in-service training and Keepsafe protocols.
- Assist with assessments and evaluations of children.
- Maintain and monitor records and statistics needed for the program, such as snacks, attendance, and supplies.
- Help with planning, serving meals, and class activities as needed.
- Support and uphold the mission of The Salvation Army
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Corps Commanding Officers
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma
- Prior tutoring experience preferred

- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
- Ability to relate to children
- Ability to operate independently – self-motivated, self-management
