Overview
Assisting After-School children with various, social, and inter-personal skills
Responsibilities
- Assist other staff members in the pick-up of children from the local public schools and accompanying them back to the Center
- Review children’s homework assignments and assist them in completing them correctly
- Keep accurate records of children’s assignments and progress
- Inform Director of any concerns (social, academic, etc.) of the students
- Provide tutoring to students when necessary
- Assist and/or organize games, crafts, and other recreational activities
- Supervise children to and from park, playground, field trips, etc.
- Keep accurate records/tracking slips, attendance, lunch counts, etc.
- Maintain proper staff to student ratio at all times
- All other duties as directed by Corps Officer and/or Director
Qualifications
- At least a Junior or Senior in High School with an outstanding academic report
- Maintain an “A” or “B” average in his/her own academic reports
- Be able to walk to and from schools (in assisting with school pick-ups)
- Be able to work outdoors for recreational activities
- Be flexible to assist the Director and/or other staff in any necessary tasks
- Must understand and appreciate the mission of The Salvation Army.
Salary : $16 - $17
